about

Becca Woodbine Cusdinartbywoodbine is the inspired result of an idea that was sparked off whilst moving and displaying various pieces of artwork which members of my family have created around my home and the desire to show this work for people to buy and enjoy.

One of the receptacles for this was the creation of this website.

I started photographing all the artwork and bounced the idea off family and friends, showing them the pieces created, and because of the diversity of styles, subjects and medium, the support became an enthusiastic reality.

Through the generations of my family past and present, creativity has been an intrinsic part of our lives and binds us with its family folklore and tales.

artbywoodbine will be a reflector, it is a confirmation and acknowledgement of the artist’s talent and the respect and love I hold for them.

The back drop to each page is a letter given to me by my mum and dad on a birthday some years ago which I have kept, it reads:

Many Happy Returns of the Day Becca!
We hope you will be inspired to produce a
masterpiece on this square of canvas.
Enjoy yourself on the day.
All our love Mum & Dad

All amateurs with the busyness of life to juggle with, these pieces span a timeline from the 1970’s to the present. Our reference library and inspiration came from using various pictures, paintings, photographs, cards, sculptures, news paper articles, models, television programmes and personal experiences.

This artwork has been found on walls in various homes of family or as gifts to friends, in cupboards, in folders and even down the cellar! We blew the dust off and realized the beauty and skill of each individual artist.

I have spent time talking with and listening to each artist and we have all acknowledged the transition of a blank sheet of canvas or paper and the emotions we feel on completion of a piece.

The statements from the artists of why the need to paint goes from “an all consuming passion to paint until the piece is finished” to “an emphatic desire to attain euphoria”

artbywoodbine, the pure joy of creating.
